Description

Pretty Scottish round action boxlock n/e 16 bore, I believe built in the 1930s. LOP 14 3/8 inches

Tight on the face, overhauled a couple of years ago when a firing pin was replaced. RFD has confirmed it is in proof.

Some light pitting, but still perfectly usable. The stock is darker where covered by a leather stock extender. Some light cabinet dings, but nothing major.

Lovely walked up gun, but little used and would like cabinet space.

Prefer face to face (and I will throw in a decent canvas and leather sleeve), but will RFD at cost.

This gun is being sold by Pigeon Watch member Townie. Message them here

It's worth £250 tops in the current market imo, but even that may be optimistic if the barrel measurements are poor.

It's such a shame, but the boxlock non ejector market is so seriously depressed at the moment. It's crazy the amount of really nice boxlocks that are floating around just now, and I doubt the market will improve anytime soon sadly

Unfortunately I think his offer would be closer to £25 . If anything . Regards

My reasoning being that he is one of the few gunsmiths and dealers left that continues to specialise in side by sides (most of his stock),and being based in Scotland is always interested In quality Scottish makers .

You could however be right.

I agree 100%

I recently sold a beautiful Damascused barrelled 30" English gun SxS NE with no pitting and 25 and 26thou barrel measurements cased for £450 on a commission basis through Graham, a true gent indeed, I suspect £25 is optimistic though. It's still on his website marked as sold its off to USA

Agree, if Graham cannot or will not sell a Scottish gun it is not worth selling. Recently bought my Dickson off him and he sold a Holland and a Purdey last year for me plus a number of repairs and servicing. Absolute Gentleman.

Worth a try ,shame it's not an ejector ,he is a helpful chap to deal with ,I bought a lovely Kirk fowling gun off him years ago.

I called Graham Mackinlay and he is indeed a helpful chap. Responded promptly to emails and made a generous offer. He's also got some lovely guns and I'll make a point of visiting if I'm ever up that way. Nice change from some of the miseries I've dealt with in the gun trade.

Nice one I  am glad, the trouble is that an awful lot of the shops are run by people who are gun sellers only and unless the gun is brand new and modern they haven't a clue .l knew Graham would appreciate it and could do any work needed on it.

As always with selling it's finding the right customer, I hope it was more than the £25 predicted by others.
