WalkedUp Posted July 29, 2021 Report Share Posted July 29, 2021 Due to bad weather today I’ve ended up double booked for tomorrow. I am due to be going on a boat we have chartered to fish for bass, mackerel, pollock and haddock with my two oldest boys. If they catch a single fish each they will be over the moon, they are infatuated with Swallows and Amazons so they want to catch and cook their own fish. We blanked yesterday off the rocks for mackerel. I’m now also meant to be on the hill after an early cull stag, the reds are still in velvet here so it will be the first beast of the year for this remote estate. Rather than cancel either I’ve decided to double head the day and will just have to use some guile to plug on with a quick transfer after high tide drops then to the hills. The ghillie thinks we are likely to blank with such a late start but I’m happy to put the miles in. Fingers crossed it should be a special day. Set off from Bettyhill at 0930hrs and just finished unpacking the car and packing for tomorrow. Being picked up at 0550 to have an early morning bash at foxes and crows on the shoot.
