Mail on line reports "Gunman kills 5 before turning gun on himself" Small toddler killed and gunman's mother amongst dead.

Deepest condolences to all who have lost someone dear to them in this horrific shooting.

Another dreadful incident that wont bode well for legitimate firearms holders.

Its sad people have died but now theres another nail in the coffin of our sport, it will get twisted and blown out of proportion

How does the murder of a three year old child, get blown out of proportion ?

This looks like a horrific incident, where several, innocent people have been callously murdered, our thought should be with them. The impact on our hobby is quite insignificant at this time.

Nice that you dedicated five words to the victims though.

It is onky just over 12 hours since this happened and reports are all over the place. Until a proper statement is released then it's all speculation. As has been said, this is truly awful and our hobby is the last thing we should be worrying about. Innocent people have lost their lives because of one person's actions. Thoughts are with all who new and loved them...

Just going to say it how it is , you have whole family's killed in car accidents because of drunk drivers and speeders that never even make it to the papers  , but because a firearm was used people will be calling for tighter restrictions , its is awful what has happen , but there is no point in giving the PC answer of we shouldn't be worried about are sport at the moment guess what we should be worried a child was murdered the public is going to want action , the default action of the police and government is to ban stuff. Doing the old PC answer is not going to help in a year or so when they are taking our guns oh and let's face it no one going to fight it or stop we will just let it happen . Shame really in two weeks i have heard of a baby in aldershot who was battered to death and a toddler killed by there mother but because there wasn't a gun involved there not much media coverage

Details will emerge in time and I agree, speculation is pretty pointless because we simply don't know what happened yet. All that we do seem to know is that innocent people have been shot, which is tragic.

But we can assume that anti groups will seize on it and that some politicians will try to make themselves popular by calling for even stricter licencing. I think that we all know that the licencing system in the UK is pretty tough and doesn't need to change.  And we shooters also know that in every previous horrific shooting (Ryan, Hamilton, Bird) the shootings were only possible because the police had issued certificates to people with a criminal past, had ignored warnings about them and had failed to follow their own procedures, indicating that the system itself had worked.

There are some worrying videos posted recently on the alleged shooters own YouTube channel in which his comments suggest that he belongs to or sympathises with the 'incel' community. Some members of this community have been responsible for a number of shootings in the States. (His YouTube account name is 'Professor Waffle') Deeply disturbing. I'll be surprised if this was a legally held firearm/shotgun.

Yep, just watched his video “Missing out on teenage love and experiences and people who say its not a big deal'' he was certainly in need of help, all very sad.

Just looked the shooter up on Facebook to see if there were any clues as to whether the gun used was legally held or not.   My gut feeling is an illegally held weapon was used, he looks wide eyed and spaced out in half a dozen profile pictures.    Bad for the image of the sport if he held a certificate.

Tyhe Police video (Chief Constable?) has just confirmed he was a licensed holder.  No more details.
