Flycoy I don't know of any in the Midlands , that is not to say there are no game dealers in your area as there might well be some . In the Norfolk area there used to be several and I know over the years I have sold Pigeons and game to at least seven game dealers in our neck of the woods . Now we are down to one as far as I know that are still buying fresh or frozen Pigeons , the price they are paying is the same for fresh and frozen and the price being paid is 10p , not a lot but they end up in the food chain and are not wasted , I fear that selling them for reasonable money is all but gone and unlikely to change any time soon . marsh man Posted August 15, 2021 Report Share Posted August 15, 2021 1 hour ago, old'un said: Sporting Supplies, Willenhall Lane Bloxwich used to take pigeons but not sure if they still do, give them a call, 01922 406777 Problem is everywhere here and abroad all closed there eating out places down during the pandemic , the dealers that kept open were buying them for next to nothing and stock pilling , now they have got 1000s and more than likely still buying more than they are selling , I was only looking the other night at some receipts I had in the 70s from Frost Game in Brockdish , we were buying cheap cartridges at £40 a 1000 , we were getting 30p for frozen and 35 / 40p for fresh , the cartridges worked out at 4p each , so if we got 40p for a fresh pigeon that was 10 times more than a cartridge , now a cheap shell would be 25 / 30p ? , so at the same rate we would now be getting £2.50 / £3.00 for a fresh pigeon , I only wish .
