John_R
This has come up this year, I can't remember the last time I saw it despite the bulbs being in the ground for years. From a mixed bag of bulbs, is it Gladiolus or am I way off the mark?

Jim Neal
👍 If you have a smartphone, get the app called Picture This, it's very good. They try to sell you the paid-for version on the screen when you first open it. But if you very accurately tap on the "continue with free version" which, strangely, is in a very small font, you can carry on without paying - I think you get a limited number of IDs per day. Give it a go

Give it a go I use an app called PlantNet which is free with unlimited views. Can use it on the leaf, flower, fruit, stem and bark, so even trees can be identified. It’s brilliant. There’s always loads of wild flowers out in our wonderful countryside that I should know but don’t, so this is a good way to identify them. moor man
Be wary of this plant! An old friend who was a gardener was nearly blinded by one of these, they have very pointy bits on the end!!
