Someone will be along shortly to tell you 28g of 7.5 is not suitable for shooting game.

πŸ™‚ Had a really good beaters day onΒ Β 28 grm 7.5’s through cylinder and cylinder many moons ago……back before someone had told me they were no good for game.Β πŸ€”

There mayΒ be plenty of trap loads Β used in such a manner when lead is eventually β€˜phased out’.Β

Yes! The 28 gram isn't the issue it's that 7.5 shot at close range partridge in a gun with more that 1/.4 chioke might leave a lot of shot in the bird when it comes to eating it. It'll kill well and kill dead in the air of that have no doubt...but that's a lot of pellets maybe in the bird?

Lol... That cartridge will drop anything up to a Pheasant everytime if on target out to 40 yards through anything from IC upwards.

Β

Whilst it says 7.5 shot, victory is Euro sized so a UK no7.

Pattern is King, Energy\Penetration is Queen but you need both for a clean kill.

What do you call close range?

Ah! That's a whole horse of a different colour. If 340 a true English #7 to the 1 ounce I'd use them with no worry at all.Β

Do you really think you could tell the difference between a handful of partridges shot with a 28/7 and a handful shot with a 28/7 1/2?
Even if you plucked them?

I don’t!

Exactly. It never ceases to amazeΒ me how people seem so intent on creating obstacles where none exist! πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

They where the best fibre carts on the market when they first came out ! Early 90’s I recall as I went from trap 100&200 to victory sonics and those 480’s for fibres where I had to use them , then Eley brought V.I.P’s out in fibre my first slab of them cost me Β£29.00Β
