Gordon R
My lads have been into motocross for over 30 years and I am well aware of all practice tracks. My grandchildren have just got a Quadzilla 100cc and I am struggling to find where they can ride it. We have seen 100cc and a lot larger at some motocross tracks, where they also have a children's track. We checked the availability of tracks before buying a quad, but they are now saying they only allow either 50cc or others - 90cc. I have witnessed many quads far larger at the respective tracks, but don't want to get involved in disputes about engine size. Looking for a practice track in north west ideally, but will travel to Cheshire, Yorkshire etc.
Vince Green
The engine size ruling on the tracks might be made by their insurers
Gordon R
Fair point Vince, but they don't appear to enforce it. Either they turn a deliberate blind eye or riders lie about engine size. In the event of an accident - neither option seems sensible. JTaylor91
The nephew rides here regularly, not sure if they allow quads though. https://www.fatcatmotoparc.com Edit: the father in law reckons they are allowed on a practice track and a tarmac track but he’s never seen any on the main tracks. Gordon R
fatcatmotoparc - mini bikes and go karts - no quads. They ended up at Astley Raceway today. Limited oval track for quads, but it's a start. My youngest is the lad in black in the background. amateur
1 hour ago, Vince Green said: Green lanes?, I know you are not supposed to but nobody seems to be enforcing it You have to have a valid driving licence, insurance and road tax (where applicable) to use a green lane, so definitely not. Ricko
I think that some friends use Tile Farm near Chester, not sure of the rules regarding engine size etc.
