LOCKDOWN PROJECT

In 1948 my older brother built a model airplane from aeromodeller plans service "the wren" I helped a little, I was 12. His was an attempt to fly with single channel home made radio which never did work very well.

25 years ago my son and I built another WREN, this time free flight as it was designed and this model has flown many times every year at the BMFA Nationals.

Fast forward to Lockdown and we decided to build a twice size three channel WREN! 250 hours and about £800 poorer she is ready to fly.

Enjoy.

What a beauty!

I would love to build and fly a model aircraft but I know in my heart I would just be building a model kamikaze 😐

Quite possible. Although there are excellent training videos available now. In my day you built it , chucked it in the air and hoped for the best. "We built a lot of airplanes!" That huge Wren has over 100 years of building experience in it. 70 for me and 35 for my son.
