I'd look xxxxxxx great in that 😅.

You always seem to have pictures of semi naked men at your fingertips dave 😆

Yes indeed, Google is a wonderful resource and having time at work on night shifts helps too.

By the way, how old were your medium size fishing suits?  :w00t:

I suspected as much!

Now David,  have you ever heard the old saying about people that live in glass houses 😊

Lin didn't believe me that the year before we met , I was in a 30" waist , and did the three peaks challenge 😊.  Theirs been rumblings of doing it again , so that'll be me having to train like a maniac for a year😢😢😢.

I'd love a large bandsaw , so that I could plank some oak from our woodland.  I thought about building my own ,  but I already need to live until I'm 130 years old to finish the projects that I have planned 😕.

I said rumblings , I'll need to dig very deep to find the time and motivation these days.

The last time we did it , we gave the money to the specialist ward that looked after my late wife . If we did do it again , it would most probably go to cancer research.

Get it sorted, we (PW) need a focus, we used to do lots of good work!  :good:

I might just find the motivation to kick myself into gear ,and get it done.

The guy that the fishing suits actually came from is Lins dad . He's 87 years old , and still fishes three fishing matches every week . He fishes with his kid brother (83 years old ) . He does get a bit of help carrying his tackle sometimes ,from the youngsters in the group( under 70s)😊. He fell into an icy pool earlier in the year  , the guy that dragged him out , said that he was trying to hold him under , but he fought back 😅. Lin went and saw the guy that organises the matches , and insists that he isn't allowed to fish unless he wears his self inflating pfd , as he can't swim 😅

A ree saw is the thing you need dude . I have more mahogany stacking up right now as we speak . I’ll keep you well stocked .

don’t forget a piece of oak fresh sawn of 4x2 would be 5-6 years before it’s any good to use.

Chainsaw mill is the answer. I made one myself and slabbed quite a lot of the poplar out of our wood for the cabins I built. Ok it does lose a bit of time ber compared with a band saw but you have plenty.  You need to build a bench to sit the timber on which helps a great deal.

I know that it needs to be well seasoned for your top notch work , but for the type of things I'd use it for( mainly craft stuff )  green oak is fine .

I have an alaskan mill , and chainsaw with a 24 inch bar , but I soon realised that cutting oak takes very good gear , and my gear just isn't up to it .

I do slab a bit of oak already , but I do it freehand with the chainsaw , it's very hard and slow work , and not particularly accurate. I like making chopping boards from Oak that's fallen , but has been hanging off the ground for many years , the colour of the oak is stunning.

Yep you    a) need a sharp chain

                 b) need a chain just for going down the grain not across.

They are shaped and sharpened at a different angle.  Makes a hugge difference.

You can get away with a normal chain on softwood but not hardwood..
