I have a good friend who's a Lib Dem councillor. they suspect the only way this 'blue wall' is going to come down is with Lib Dem voters repeatedly banging their heads against it at the vacuousness of their own party! Their party conference is going on at the minute. An inordinate amount of time has been geared towards changing the order of sentences in the constitution. Not changing the actual words, just the order they come in.
