If they cannot evidence their claim (through corroboration or paper work) then its imprisonment indefinitely. At any point they can have a return ticket to a country of their choice.

Identity cards for all adults in UK.

Now we are agreeing on something.

That damage brings the whole thing into disrepute. Unfortunately pegging it back will have down sides for everyone and they will only be recognised when its too late. I reckon a complete redraw is in order but I doubt we will do that. When legislation is made in haste it's usually a dogs dinner.

Well yes to that,  we've had sufficient time to clearly demonstrate it doesn't work for British border interests.

How can we deport illegal immigrants when Border Force (our gatekeepers) take out court orders stopping Rwanda flights? Likewise all the human rights lawyers and other handwringers that endanger you and i and our communitties? How can France refuse to take them back when they have arrived here escorted by the French Navy ?They got into France from Germany Spain or from the Med. or the Netherlands Only EU citizens have free movement in Europe without a passport so how have they got to the beaches without any of the authorities knowing

One for oowee here:-

How many National Insurance numbers are current, in excess of the stated population of the UK?

1 million

5 million

10 million

19 million

I guess that many NI numbers will still be valid when workers leave the UK, there is no requirement to close them down. If .5m EU workers left the UK every year whilst we were members that would suggest the higher end of your scale. Plus all of the Oceanic two year workers. The number will be massive?

 Give in. 🤪

No you don't have to peg it back. Just enforce it in the way it was intended. The way other countries seem to manage it.

At the moment the idea that a failed asylum seeker could not be deported because he had a cat shows to extreme stupidity of our interpretation.

In an ideal world he wouldn't have been here long enough to get a cat.

On paper it seems fair enough.

What does the UK do with Chinese illegals. No passport, China won't have them back, even if they rightly claim to be Chinese. I believe China's position is that they cannot be Chinese or they would never have left the wonderful country in the first place.

There is a wonderful country called Rwanda where they will be very happy.

A country full of opportunity, in particular the opportunity to remember what they did with their passports.

Very soon, if the Government did it, the appeal of coming to Britain illegally would diminish hugely and they would stop coming

A lot of them come in through Italy and apparently there are opportunists who have bought an old minibus and just park it up in a prominent position near where the boat people gather in Italy.

The bus owners just put a cardboard notice in the window saying " French coast € xxxx" and set off as soon as they have got a full load. They drive day and night

Where there is a need there is always somebody who sees a business opportunity

you are right ..........but to be fair all MP's are thick as ****. and most of them dont know they are lying........and believe totally what their advisors say....

perhaps we should make it a rule that whatever advisors they use, they should have experience and qualifications in what they are asked to advise on ..........

all SPADS are self abusers

Looking at global warming we need to think about how we can accommodate a few million more. Since I was aware there have been charities raising money for famine and water aid. None of these things seem to have improved despite the money being raised and if anything for many countries the situation is getting dramatically worse.

So instead of biatching about what has been the result of France wilfully escorting migrants to our border and ECHR stopping UK any which way it can until we can fully dump their legal interference - what do people have in mind that WOULD be a legal way to stop dinghies from France that cannot be interfered with?

Could any party be worse than the shambles we have now? The Tories have been worse than useless Boris has done f all and now we have no one in charge.

Yes Labour would be worse. Be very careful what you wish for, a lot of people are saying what you are saying.
