BSA were brilliant 35 years ago but have been living off that name ever since. 

I tried a Gamo at Knibbs Countrystore that does operate a fair and honest "try before you buy" on secondhand air weapons. And fired just two shots! The trigger on it was pants! I'd have used the "s" word but that'd get me banned here. But the triggers really are that bad! Avoid!

Yerr, it doesn’t take much to get banned off here. oops, hope I don’t get banned for putting that....😂

My Gamo GX40 PCP is doing very well. I have adjusted the trigger with a longer, rounded-off screw, and removed the barrel band and it is very good on the squirrels.

With a moderator I have to listen carefully to the pellet impact to believe it is achieving full power (and it is).  The GAMO PCPs use BSA barrels and seem to get good reviews all round. Very happy with mine.
