Thermal spotter on a 'scope

Speaking with a friend of mine, who, like myself, has an Axion Key 30 thermal spotter, and he asked if it could be mounted somehow, to the front of a scope, would it work?

Try holding it on your scope see what it’s like then you can look at mounting it but I don’t think it would work.

The eye piece on the thermal is a lot smaller than the the scope as above hold it up to the scope and see

What he was thinking was, is to make something to reduce the diameter so that the spotter fits to the scope.

the only way to know is hold the spotter to the scope and see

A scope objective lens is designed to provide focus for the eye from say 10 yards to infinity with adjustment in most cases - whilst the spotter is designed to focus the eye to the screen about an inch away from it. I very much doubt the scope will focus close enough to the spotter screen.

 

Front clip-ons will have special lens/adaptors to achieve that one inch (ish) focal distance.
