bit of a strange one this morning i was driving my motorcycle down red street in southfleet kent and i saw 4 birds walking in the road towards me  i first thought they were wiered shaped geese but when they scrambled up the bank i could see them very well the first was a white and black the second was smaller and a browny grey colour  and the 2 others were there young and both a darker brown grey they looked like peacocks to me but none had the tail but both parents had the peacock crest on there head like a mohecan  i wish i had thre time to take a picture of them anyone local to southfleet know about them ?  maybee escapees etc?

Pea henwith some youngsters probably. We have them in our village . They belong to our neighbour but treat the village as their own.  Hen birds are dirty creamy colour with a bit of a crown, the others probably youngsters.   They are a biggish bird and Cranfield may have the answer if what you saw was not an obvious larger bird.
