Stuck spent cases ?.

Hi gang.

I've had my CZ 452 .22 for about 16 years and have never cleaned the barrel or moderator.

But for a while now the spent cases are getting stuck in the breech and i have to pull them out

with my finger nail. When i get home i scrub the breech with cleaner and a 410 bronze brush.

This works for about a dozen shots and then the same problem occurs.

Any advice chaps ?.       Been using Winny subs from day one.

                                               Thanks all.

What shells are you shooting.  I am having a similar problem. I normally shoot CCI sus but have just started a box of Winchester subs and they shoot very accurately and silent BUT every thrid or fourth case sticks in the chamber and needs flicking out.  Go back to the CCIs and no problem all eject clean as a whistle.

Are the extractor claws in the right sides.    They are slightly different.  I cleaned the ones on my 452 and put them in on the wrong sides of the bolt and the extraction went pear shaped.

Yep they are in the right sides, i double checked. And am using Winny subs.

I know its a pain but I am going to run through the remaining Winchester rounds I have and give them a wipe just in case they have some waxy substance on them. They don't feel tacky but it is strange I have had the same problem using the same cartridge.

I'm shooting a Browning T Bolt.

I'll give it a go.

Is the barrel recess the extractor claw sits in completely clean and free from waxy build up?

After that you may have to clean the chamber if you've not already done so or look to see if there's a better cleaner/solvent?

That's a problem area often overlooked! :good:
