Hi folks,

With all things being equal, regarding reloading any calibre..... .223 and 6.5mm Creedmoor in this case

If I loaded up 10 rounds of .223 Rem, and 6.5 CM, and all was completely equal, bar the brass case length. Would it make a lot of difference....??

As in, If the brass had varied in length by 8 thou across the board. Would that make a lot of difference to the point of impact over 200 yards??

Constructive advice appreciated....

As above...  I confess I am thick,  BUT nothing in life is that simple. There are many many variables and even if you were to be so critical in every detail,  there wiĺl be variable velocities within a ten round shoot.  I don't think that anyone could shoot so accurately as to get accuracy that accurate as to be able to tell.  It's like asking if it's possible to select which flea to shoot off of the back of a dog in France.   From Dover. .  Sorry.

Ps. Perhaps you could expand and explain what and why you are really asking.

If you have worked up a decent load that shoots accurately and loaded on node you should still have perfectly accurate rounds at 200 yards - 8 thou won't make a huge difference.

It all depends on what you are looking to achieve but I would fully expect any of my rifles to still group 5 rounds well inside an inch at 200 yards with that sort of variation in case length. However I wouldn't make a habit of having such a large variation and certainly never over maximum length.

It's likely your measurements are the OAL, so your case necks have stretched. They will at some point need trimming as you will no longer be able to close the bolt.

Assuming you bought the CM after reading all about its accuracy potential, your 200 yds would be the zero range for the CM.
