Do you have to use the feeder as a backstop is my initial thought. I have a number of flip top squirrel feeders in use constantly and most are made from steel sheet, sometimes stainless and then sometime ally. On placoing them I always look at the background, even with a 12ftlb air rifle. More info and I might be able to make some up for you.
