The same ones not following the rules / advice causing rising infections will be the first shouting when restrictions are tightened because of their actions. Children are just as capable of passing on the virus as adults. If all it takes to avoid the virus is the wearing of a mask, then by all means wear one. It’s your choice. As far as I’m concerned it doesn’t matter if others do or not. It’s called freedom of choice.

If you want to wear a mask then do, it’s your choice, but you can’t expect others to do so. For me you can expect people wear one when food shopping or using public transport, but the pub or beaters wagon are your choice, because you don't have to be there. I agree, like you didn’t need to be at the party. It was your choice. To wear one while shopping however, is law….again. Have just been into Sainsburys in town. An elderly man scratching away at a scratch card, his mask under his chin. Another lady at the pharmacy with her ( homemade ?) mask hanging so far loose off her face that her nose and mouth were clearly visible. 🙂🤷♂️

Quote In England, face coverings are now required by law in most indoor public places and on public transport, including taxis

Yes, it is, once again. And while it is I’ll wear one in the designated places, and have throughout. I was referring to the period where the wearing of masks wasn’t compulsory but possibly advisable if going to a childrens party. The choices we make. Regards the wearing of seatbelts and crash hats, I have always thought these should be an individuals choice. Drink driving is driving under the influence of drugs, but both are topics for another thread.

How do you think the shelves are filled? Unless you scan your own shopping then they’re handled at the tills too. People are going into clothes shops and trying on clothes, and shoes, and all manner of things. We’re going into pubs and handling glasses which we take back to the bar and hand over to the staff who fill it up again or give us a new one. If you’re so worried then stay at home and do an online shop, or sanitise your hands, or wash them when you get home. It’s not rocket science. Please, come on folks. It dont take the handling of fifteen loaves of to make up your mind you dont want one.

No, you’re right, it doesn’t, but like I said, if you’re concerned then sanitise your hands. This isn’t going away anytime soon, people need to decide whether they’re going to live in fear by second guessing anything and everything, or just get on with their lives. I know a couple who want me to paint the exterior of their house; they asked me about pricing the job over a year ago but aren’t willing to let me do so until ‘all this is over’. The job is outside for crying out loud! They travel into town once a week to shop and one of them is absolutely scathing about people who won’t wear masks, whether it’s compulsory or not. They are both treble jabbed but he is particularly scathing about waiting on staff who aren’t wearing masks, as they both enjoy eating out, and he claims it spoils his enjoyment of dining out, yet he sits at the table without a mask! I can only assume he regards waiting on staff as less hygienic than he? The sheer arrogance of the man astounds me! His partner bought a painting off me he saw online earlier in the year, but is frightened to let me deliver it in case the other kicks off. As a result he has no painting and I haven’t been paid! It’s ridiculous! I was shooting with a group of people last weekend. We shared food and drink both outside and inside; the beakers for the hot chocolate and baileys was handed to me by a teenaged girl, and I helped a young lad insert his ear plugs, and I shared a hot hamper with around twenty other folk. We congregated in the bothy at days end around the wood burner, shared Christmas cake and passed around a few bottles and even more cups and glasses. I was sat in a steamy beaters trailer yesterday with people of all ages, and at a break between drives we shared flasks of coffee and passed around a box of chocolate orange Tiffin made by the keepers wife, and very nice it was too; she’s a fabulous baker! Next Saturday is our syndicate shoot, and as always we go to the pub for pie and peas on the last shoot prior to Christmas, so I’ll be sat in the pub with at least another 16 people, having the craic and extracting the urine no doubt. I was in my local last night cos I couldn’t be bothered to make any tea, sat with friends and strangers alike. My OH is a waitress in an extremely popular and busy restaurant, she mingles with up to about eighty people a day during a double shift. We often go next door to have coffee with her elderly parents. 🤷♂️ All the above folk ( with the exception of the youngsters ) have been double if not treble jabbed. People need to get a grip or stay at home, please.
