Just Another Day in the Fens

Plans were being muted earlier in the week, it would all depend upon the weather.

Eventually by Friday evening 7 of us had declared our intention to get out on Saturday.

We arrived late morning and went to our allocated places.

My shooting Mate and I were at Botany Bay next to the Old Course of the River Nene.

We were under the trees by 12:00 and started to get some movement.

The rotary was put out with a pair of flapping decoys.

We were about 150 feet apart and got some cracking wood pigeons to shoot at. Very handy to have walkie talkies.

I have included some pictures of the wonderful surroundings.

The wind was on the other side of the wood from the East and it was much nicer to be out of it.

We picked up 34 WPs which I have distributed to the poor of the Parish!

With the others dotted about we accounted for at least a hundred.

Clays tomorrow!

Good report there Dave. Thanks for posting.

Those photos certainly show the big atmospheric Fenland skies.

I trust that you used your `Old Boggy` bottle opener on that lovely bottle of beer.

OB

I certainly did, cracking way to finish the day.  :good:
