it's really a non story to me

And to me

People who work together, sitting spread out outside, all fairly 'sensible'.  Wine a cheese - not a big issue, people who work together under high pressure probably benefit from socialising together a bit.  When working in 'official' channels where Govt. policy is being discussed, Govt premises are needed for security

It seems to me like a Cummings stitch up - spread (gleefully) by the lefty press.

Whoever leaked/published the photos would I assume be guilty of a breach of contract or even Official Secrets Act.

Maybe you guys are right and I've simply fallen victim to media manipulation. I've a feeling more photos will come out however, time will tell.

That particular photo set , makes it look far less hypocritical than we were lead to believe, someone messed up there.

The picture of the two in the background reminds me of Cummings actually, but I agree, it’s a non story to me too.
Edited to add. That’s Cummings in the foreground isn’t it! Maybe I should drive to Barnie to test my eye sight!!🤓

Well he's made it into 2022, many thought he would be gone by now. Most of the Tory bashing newspapers and broadcasters are still trying.

Putting the parties at number 10, aside. A lot of the decision making, particularly around C-19, he damned if he does or doesn't. No win situation.

Boris is a total liabilty to the country, especially with his net zero rubbish which is already driving energy prices and inflation through the roof.  He won't make it through 2022 once peoples pockets start being emptied with the huge cost of living rises, tax increases and none stop illegals arriving daily with total impunity and no desire from the Government to stop them.  Industry cannot live with sky high energy costs, it will move abroad probably with grants from accomodating countries.  US Fracked gas is 10% of the cost we are paying currently and we are sat on huge volumes of our own we refuse to use, it is total and utter madness.

As an aside I see a Carrie backed organisation is now trying to get trail hunting banned.

Seemingly just the way of political life here for 50 years now, pulverise the aspirations of the population for the personal gain of a few and undertake a never ending campaign in the removal of personal freedoms, only possible of course as we don't have a constitution?

No doubt that was by design too as some politicos were, I think linked to the creation of the American one and thought maybe not a good idea here? Would like that thought verified.please.

Hello, I see there's news of another party at number 10 but how many 1000s of people many well know like MPs, Celebs, TV presenters etc also broke the government covid guidelines , fines for the general public, slap on the wrist for others mentioned or a 6 month holiday like Kay Burley 🤔

I fear BJ has learned too much at the knee of Donald Chump. Doesn't matter what's said, or evidence provided. Just ride on through. The minions will get over it.

Even as we speak he may well be concocting a "Jan 6th party" in the house of commons.

Labour should stop trying to oust him. Him being in place is their best bet for a shoe-in at the next election.

I think you are clutching at straws.

Labour are not up to running the country and the country knows this.

The Lib Dems are a massive force of 14 now.

There is NO alternative to the Conservative Party.

I know it sounds far fetched but don't rule out Farage. I don't like everything about the man but he's the closest thing we've go to a proper politician. You just watch the climb of the Reform party.

And I love the way you say "are not up to running the country", you mean like this shambles we've got now is?

I too am a fan of Farage, but he is a spent force and is as ever without any decent support.

If you think the current government is bad, just reflect on what might be if either Corbyn or Starmer had reached power. If you still think they could do better you are sadly mistaken.

We appear to be getting these drip fed stories, in the hope of causing maximum damage to Boris. It has to be Cummings and his sympathisers behind it.

I used to have a lot of time for Cummings, if he is responsible for this. Okay he had a beef with Boris but to damage the party as a whole is shameful.

Cameron (I think it was he) said he thought Cummings was a psychopath - perhaps he was right?

I get really tired of hearing how bad a Labour Government would be. I know that taken as a whole, Labour MPs are maybe not as well educated as the Old Etonians etc but the biggest difference is labour at least tries to give something to the little people. Just look at what the Tories cut back on, everything that doesn't make money but costs money. Labour doesn't do that (I'm generalising here) but you can't always do that without borrowing. Now look at what the Tories are about to do because they've had to borrow for a change and they want that money back.

It was the Tories who raised the tax free allowance from ~£6K to ~£12K.

Perhaps you'd also like to tell us why there isn't enough Nurses, Doctors, Police, etc etc etc etc?

Perhaps you should remember a few of conveniently forgotten facts

It takes 7/8 years to train a doctor and that is once the places at uni are available.  The last socialist (and I use the term advisedly) government encouraged people to go to uni but led to a proliferation of less than useful courses like media studies to the determent of medical training.  Bear in mind it takes 4/5 years to get a course up and running so from lack of places it is 12 plus years until they start to come out of initial training.  It was also was AB that reduced the training places for all medics.

Similar situation with nurses but the time lag is less.  However the course requirements are higher than MS and such so are less attractive to those who want an easy ride.  Plus you have to continue training one qualified.

Police is less attractive due to the flack they receive.

Perhaps you should remember that it's the governments job to run the country. With foresight not hindsight.

I'm pretty old now and I can reasonably say that for at least 40 years the NHS has consistently bleated about staff shortages and, by implication, lack of adequate funding by tory governments. And it's exactly the same story with the police.

These inherently left leaning vast monolithic organisations need to focus more efforts on their own internal efficiency and less on playing politics and constantly shifting blame onto the tories.

This. /\

State bodies bleating about being underfunded and understaffed is as 'standard' as MPs bleeating about being underpaid (£82K plus average expenses of £157K) https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9174069/Average-MP-costs-240k-YEAR.html

If Labour are intent of gaining power I think that going after Boris will not help them that much. They will never get a sufficient majority without regaining all those Scots seat they have lost to SNP. Starmer must see this as his real battle ground because without winning that fight, he will never win the war.

However, if it's clear that there was a Party at his house during the strictest period of the lockdown, then he simply has to resign.
