Very sad news.

I bought a Discovery off him years ago. A really nice genuine bloke.

I got the sense that for the best part of his life he did a very difficult job which none of us would or could do, for which we should all be very grateful to him for and which had taken a great deal from him.

I agree with that.

He did explain his job to me and some of the difficulties he faced.

We spent many an hour sharing a hide or a field and driving around Norfolk searching for pigeons. Yes, he had a very difficult professional job but he carried it out with skill and diligence. Harnser was a lovely bloke who loved the countryside and his family and county. I will miss him terribly.

I thought along those lines, I'm sure I've spoken to him on here, about Herons.

Always a shame when another member passes, but it's nice reading the comments from people who new them.
