Black Action shotgun - which model did I see?

Hi,

Not been reg'd long, but a long time lurker really. Strange first post but here we go :)

Was at a clay shoot the other day and was talking to one of the instructors when a gent walked in asking for advice/confirmation on his chokes.

He had a nice looking over+under and I've been trying to find his gun model ever since - looked a bit like a Beretta 690 Black Edition with the orange highlight wording on the action, but it definitely wasn't.

It wasn't a Browning black sporter either, in fact the only marking I saw was an "X" on the action in orange with some other short wording, like "Xxx xx"

Anyone got any ideas what gun it might have been? Vague as anything I know.. but worth a go asking.

I've been after a nice looking black action sporter, and I do like the 690's but would like to find out what this blokes was.

Have scoured the regular gun websites to see if I could work out what it was without much joy.

Cheers! :)

Many actions look similar to the 690.  Could it have been a black actioned 692?

red writing on an ata super sport? (Pic below)

Thanks for the reply. It wasn’t that ATA one unfortunately either 😞

It was orange the wording, I don’t think any of the 692’s had orange on them when I checked.

The hunt continues!

No I don’t think the 692’s did have orange as standard but not difficult to paint the lettering a different colour. The only over under I know for certain has orange is like you say the 690. I have also had a little google and couldn’t find anything. I hope you find out what it is but as tightchoke quite rightly said fit is far more important (than any colouring )

It looks like the Elos N2 Sporting AS I saw, looks exactly like it in fact.

I can't seem to find much info whether you can order them in LH rather than RH (yep, leftie), but I notice they have adjustable comb. Guess I'd need to spend a bit of time with one. I know a couple of the Browning Synergy's I looked at previously allowed you to adjust the comb adequately to suit LH nicely.

Thanks for the replies all :)
