Old English .410 SxS, Hammer Action, Shot Gun. 3inch chamber.

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I have for sale my old .410 hammer action, SxS shot gun. Made by the Midland Gun Company, Birmingham.

This really is quite a unique piece. I did some research and I believe the gun is dated 1936. Which makes it 86years old.

I also believe it was one of the first .410 guns to be chambered in 3inch.

Its in pretty good condition for its age. Its has a few dings and dents in the stock. It also has a slight chip in the bottom corner of the stock but it all adds to its character.

The blueing is good for its age. The barrels have some slight pitting but its to be expected for a .410 of this age.
Ive had it inspected by a gun smith and he said its perfectly fine to shot. Its still super tight on its faces and the fore end clip is tight also.

£400 ONO.

SGC Needed

Collection from Coventry, CV5

Thanks Nick.

Beautiful gun, a work of art but I fear the market at present is harsh for .410s. How long is the stock and the drop from sight line to the  stock? Basically what I am saying is it a man's gun or a boy's gun?

Just to demonstrate how hard things are I was offered a .410 webley bolt action. Perfect bore, perfect woodwork for £15. Disgraceful times

Hi guys,

Sorry i have added further important information here.

length of pull = 14.1/2 inches

Drop from sight line to stock is 2.1/4 inches

As for the chokes, I don’t have an accurate way to measure them. I have included pictures so my best guess is 1/2 and 3/4.

Any more information needed then please just ask.
