Hi gang.

               What's the difference between a Beretta optima hp choke and a Beretta optima choke ?.

               My 694 uses the hp and was wondering whether the ordinary optima would fit.

The simple answer is no, they’re two different choke types (I have a 692 that also uses optima hp) and ran the same thought process when I first purchased.

The difference is that instead of making one choke system, all of which are supposedly made to make your shooting SOOOO much better , they can't  rip you off for more money  .

Optima chokes are a different fit from HP and not interchangeable. Having had both types my considered opinion is that there is no performance difference, especially as the bore profile is the same. Strangely there are also Optima Plus chokes which are different again. I would say that Gunman has it about right.
