Westley
I once went to the Motor Museum in the Lake District, although superb as it was, I had been a passenger in, or driven one of most of the models on display.......................worrying ! I did not realise just how small the original mini saloon was and wondered how the hell we got a fighting drunk into the back seat of one, ...................BUT, we did ?? amateur
In my case, it is when a motorbike that I bought new in 1972 is now eligible for "The Vintage Motorcycle Club" and is counted as a "Classic".
B391
When I lived in Kent and learnt to drive and you wanted to drive up north you had to drive through London up past Finchley and Edgware etc to get to the A1. Now I avoid central London at all costs and try and use the M25 at quiet times

Or, of course, struggle through sarf east lunnon to the Blackwall and use the A to Z to navigate through Hackney to the A1 again. Makes the M25 look positively inviting! harrycatcat1
In the mid 70's I drove a Hillman Minx from Chesterfield with a caravan on the back around the island at Buckingham Palace and parked up to show my wife's granny a better look at the Palace. We were on our way to Dover. Today I wouldn't drive to London for a pig and nine young uns.
