When we were doing the house we used something called clingstrip, I think it's been a while, and that was great on house paint. It was like a putty that you stuck on and then covered with cling film. About 24 hours later all the paint down to the wood just fell off.  It did sting a bit if you got it on your skin, like proper nitromors.

Yes. Not from experience that way, but I can also vouchsafe that brakefluid strips paint from cars. Very handy when you small fiddly bits that needed stripping but time spent by other means would have been time wasted. Or even large panels too.

Thinking about it , I've never owned a car that was worth more than a tin of brake fluid.😁
