Looking in our local paper it had a report on a serious outbreak of Bird Flu on a colony of Sandwich Terns at Scolt Head nature reserve in North / Norfolk near Holkham , the warden said it ran into hundreds of the sea birds dying and many already dead , he was saying the smell alone was over powering and is going to take years for them to recover to the same numbers before the out break .

Many other sea birds are also affected such as Gannets , Terns and Great Skuas.

Could this flu affect the wild fowl population that come down our way in the many thousands each Winter ?

We know it has badly affected the local Partridge shoots by up to 70% this coming season with many cancelled shoots , could it create problems with this coming wildfowling season which is only a matter of weeks from the start ?:hmm:, worrying times ahead could be on the cards .
