Demonic69 Posted July 29, 2022 Report Share Posted July 29, 2022 Hi all We've had a kitchen island made out of new scaffold boards. It looks amazing and works really well. One thing the Mrs isn't happy with is the surface. The guys have sealed it with screwfix wood treatment, but she was expecting a more robust and smooth surface. Any recommendations for what would be best to use, bearing in mind that it has already been treated. We may need to look at some filler as well. Any new boards I've had in the past few years have twisted, split, cracked, warped etc. A Ronseal Diamond varnish might give a decent finish if prepped suitably. Scully Posted July 30, 2022 Report Share Posted July 30, 2022 We did all our kitchen worktop surfaces with a few coats of Osmo waxoyl; brushed or rolled in, wiped off with a cloth and rubbed down between each coat.
