Saw about 6/8 skiens  on the wing today , nothing cut yet so out and about looking for stubbles …… not long now

Our local Greylag populations are beginning to flock up now and unlike your ( late ) harvest ours in just about finished and should be all over by mid week , in the past we always used to aim to finish at the August Bank holiday to finish , or to cut the last of the Wheat fields down the marsh , so not only was this was our earliest start it was also our earliest finish by a good two weeks  , the marsh stubble's are normally the last ones to be cultivatid and this is where you find the Greys and Canada flocks, a lot of these geese are semi domesticated because they are fed by the holiday makers but they soon become street wise when the season start .
