AD5693
Hi All I picked up a cheap Masters Side by Side, full and half choke. Does anyone have any info on them? where they came from, year etc. Struggling to find anything on them. Plain action with no engraving, just Master made in spain on the barrel. Thanks
30-6
I remember my next door neighbour having one. Bought from a shopping catalogue that sold everything in the 60 's.

strimmer_13
Had one, shot a lot of game with it. Pretty solid well made gun if a bit ugly. Most notable thing I remember was the trigger blades being too thin and it bloody hurt after a few boxes. Also the trigger pull on mine was horrendous, almost scratching internally and far too heavy. Cost me £25 and I struggled to give it away.
enfieldspares
I've a pair of them. I think they are Ugartechea? There will be in any case a maker's mark on the action flats.
Gunman
Solidly made cheap Spanish gun I think they were originally imported by Millard Bros in the 60's , Should be able to date it by the proof marks and may have a makers id stamp . I've always idly wondered if this was the Masters of Churchill fame.

I also wondered if Mr Kipling's cakes where why he wrote. You know, something to do whilst passing the time when the buns were in the oven, cooking. Like King Alfred. But also no! London Best
The Spanish guns are labelled “Master”, not “Masters”.

Some years ago now, whilst picking up, I was asked to escort a Gun to his peg in a wood and stay with him to pick his birds. He was a chatty sort and struck up a conversation. He asked what I did for a living and I eventually asked him what he did. He said, “ have you heard of Mr. Kipling Cakes?” When I had replied he said, “well, I’m Mr. Kipling.” I forget his name now, but it wasn’t Kipling.
