Forecourt fuel prices

I may have heard this very wrong, but I am sure a couple of days ago someone on the radio said that wholesale fuel prices have dropped significantly and even allowing for 10p litre profit supermarkets are still charging 40 to 50p per litre more than they ‘should be’. ie profiteering.  And I guess not only supermarkets as all retail fuel outlets seem to be similarly priced.

but like I said, I may have misheard as I had a background noise of family chatter in the car at the same time.

Grindley Brook at Whitchurch is one of the cheapest in the country. I half filled at Costco Chester last night -  Diesel 171.9 where local stations the cheapest is 184.9 that I know of. I am in the Whitchurch area next week for the Zoli at Mickley hall - so I will be filling there (168.9 at the moment)

Working for a software company that sells pricing software this is a good example of 'willingness to pay'.  The retailers know we were paying circa £2/litre, we didn't like it but still had to to pay.   There is a precedent set and now an ultra-profitable trading opportunity is exploiting all of us.
