Well worth a read

Just now, Blackpowder said:

Read that elsewhere words of wisdom, every shooter should read that then decide if we have been led up the garden path regarding lead shot.

There is no need, that decision was made for us.

If only there was an organisation to represent shooters and spend some money fighting the balls up!

I wonder what the shootings orgs response is to this.

Something ive been on about for years, if ALL of the shooting and country sports orgs (including all the fishing) joined together as 1 group, and actually fought for their members it may have gone a different way.

Whilst I don’t agree with everything in the article, in its entirety, on the whole I think it an excellent article.
Much of it is common sense and always has been.
However, we are now where we are. I strongly believe that our representative bodies have missed the opportunity to fight this effectively through a lack of courage, will and commitment.
It is now too late, unless we’re all going to march to town again, but for what? What slogans could we use?
BASC especially in my opinion ( but all are equally as guilty ) have tret these challenges with more of a don’t rock the boat attitude, and concentrate on damage limitation rather than confronting our critics head on with all the science and facts which it is obvious to anyone with a modicum of common sense, are on our side. Too little too late.
Shooting is up against some well organised and extremely well funded and powerful lobbies, and our organisations with their collective apathy and myopic vision have let us all down.
UK shooting will forever now be ( as it always was ) fighting on the back foot in defence, in an ever decreasing ring….unless we take drastic action.
Think it through; just add up all the gains uk shooting has made in your lifetime, against all its losses. It’s not good reading.
We get what we deserve.
