I bought a reximex pcp in april this year, all seemed fine at first then it refused to cock the bolt,i took it back to the shop in september who said it will go back to rangeright, its six weeks today and no sign of it being sorted yet, what would be a resonable time to sort it out,its put me off to be honest buying another one,i have had two krals without a problem, anyone had similar issues with these guns.

If he is unwilling to give you the money back straight  away .say that's fine and pick up a nice bsa r12 or fx from his shelves .and say I will just hold on to this then till I get my money  or gun back that should speed him up .apply pressure  on him and he will pass it on ,to your benefit.

Think of it as a good will courtesy car . Your local garage knows the value of good customer service .

He sald they only have one gunsmith, reluctant to ring them and ask for an update as he reckons they make you wait longer.

Hello, they must have a lot of returns , I would get your money back if possible, or if RFD is willing to refund against another rifle, try that, who's the RFD ?

So, your contract is with your dealer, Range Right are of no concern to you and if they have one or one hundred gunsmiths is not your problem or fault. Inform your dealer, in writing, that ,in your opinion, a "reasonable" time to repair the gun has passed and you are rejecting the rifle under your consumer rights. As long as you have done nothing to invalidate your warranty then a refund or replacement is due. If the dealer refuses then contact consumer direct and follow their advice If you paid for the gun on a credit card then contact your bank and ask to start a section 75. Cases like this rely on you being "reasonable" if it goes as far as court (it wont) but best to keep everything in writing.

You could give him a call tomorrow and say you will be in next Friday. Tell him you will  be leaving with either your gun , a refund or a replacement  gun of your choice .that gives him a week to get it sorted .and be firm .

yes i agree, that sounds resonable responce,i will ring him later for an up date, thanks for the advice.
