I am waiting for Mo Salah to dedicate his missed penalty to Lineker!   :cool1:

I was trying to say that the guy on the film said Lineker mentioned the Nazis.

He didn’t, he might have inferred it.

If he had mentioned the Nazis then he wouldn’t be getting the support he is.

Personally it doesn’t bother me if he comes back (would rather he didn’t as I pay towards his bloomin wages)

To be honest I wish all football would move to Sky, I for one would not miss it, or its presenters who are paid far to much for what they do.

Yep, should be pay to view as with the other stuff.

Far too many over paid non entities sacking on the corporate teat? It's just another unfair tax?

There must be no shortage of has been ex football players who would be willing to sit in front of the camera and spout drivel for the BBC on a Saturday night

It's not very intellectual stuff for the most part.

"Oh yes, if that ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal "

It's not like Lineker is a unique commodity that can't be easily replaced.

The 'noises' coming out at present suggests that the BBC has backed down in response to pressure from the (overpaid?) presenters.  We shall see.

Well he looks pretty smug going into the BBC, most likely get a pay raise as-well.

Well - it seems that something about this case has awakened the Inland Revenue who are claiming he owes £4.9M in back tax for 'avoidance'.

You couldn't make it up!

Rather than getting flappy tabs to apologise, the BBC have apologised and promised to review their social media code for presenters.

Tabs is back in, and has already spouted off about migrants in a press release 😂

Just when you think the state broadcaster has moved toward real impartiality, the woke drag it back under their rock.

I thought, August, after a little rest and reflection.

The other one must be emboldened by this.

Yep, voice your opinion the other way and you will be lucky to survive in your job.

Frightening really how the woke mob seem able to cancel anyone/anything who/that does not fall into line.

I agree and it's called bullying and is not tolerated in an employment scenario in a reputable businesses.  I note that we have had posts (quotes in italics below taken from earlier in this thread) on this very thread accusing the Gov't/right wing regime of being the problem:

"Government ministers have successfully had a prominent entertainment personality removed from his job for expressing views criticising government policy also calling out his opinions as "unpatriotic"."

"This has nothing to do with linekar and all to do with the heavy hand of a right wing regime in power."

"It's (referring tothe BBC) run by a right wing Tory supporter."

Let’s see who’s hosting these programmes next season.

If I were the BBC’s DG, I’d let this blow over now and have a clean sweep of the whole lot in the summer.  Call it a revamp, fresh approach, more inclusivity, etc. and dump all those who withdrew their labour this weekend. They’re all tax-minimising consultants and don’t have the benefit of employment laws.

Revenge best served cold, etc.

The beeb has backed off as the debate was quickly turning to other dubious practices related to impartiality which it had hoped had blown over, such as the  director general's historic membership of the tory party and, perhaps a bit more pertinent considering he has been allowed to stay in his post until any enquiry is over is the scandal concerning the beebs present chairman, pre appointment to his present position as chairman he was instumental in arranging a loan for a man, who despite his £83,000 taxpayer funded salary and earning many times that from media moguls could not afford to pay maintenence for his many illigitimate offspring, the present chairman heard about this poor and morally impoverished mans  financial woes and arranged finance  of  £800,000, some 10 x his annual salary which to date has reportedly not been paid back,

The poor feckless man then showed his gratitude by appointing the present chairman to his £160,000pa position,

Thats why the beeb has backed down,

What isnt true?the party membership?

The 'loan'?

The appointment?

the enquiry?

Not being able to manage personal finaces?

The children?

The cash amounts?

The repayment?

The loose morals?

The scandel?

The media starting to reference this as double standards  sunday morning?

How can the beeb be impartial with those appointees in charge,, the right wing found something to have a go at the nations favourite lefty with and soon realised they had started something that with hindsight they were unwise to do so,

Hence the climbdowns

The 'loan'? So he gave him a loan, is that illegal ?

The appointment? Possible conflict of interest.

He's a very simple question that only requires a yes or no answer, which will tell me if you have a reasoned unbiased opinion.

Do you believe the BBC has a left wing bias?
