billytheghillie
Why do they show adverts on TV for cars and when you read the bit at the bottom it says " Not UK Spec " ? Why bother to show it? Confused!
Wymondley
Because the advert may not have been made in the UK and will often be shown across many different markets with just the text/speech altered to fit.

samboy
Also some of the ads are shown so quick you can't tell what make of car it is and they are never shown in traffic jams always wide open roads.

thebigH91
oh how i agree with you Billy, gets me going every time, my other pet hate is the cars and the prices shown, usually stated in large print - price at £9,000 ish but car shown is actually £16,000 so no comparison grrrr

I don't have a TV so wouldn't have seen the ad's, I am in the motor trade though and I know adverts/brochures etc can be fairly generic. I've also done new model training where the vehicles we saw were nothing like the production spec' when the car's were released. Some vehicles are built to incorporate all features possible (and some that never make it to production) for testing/evaluation, could be one of those that was given to the ad' agency.
