And you think he should do jail time which would ruin any future prospects he might have? Try getting a job with a criminal conviction, what about trying to emigrate, what about trying to get a mortgage? You think all that should be stripped from him because in the stupidity of his youth he disrupted a snooker game?

Do the crime , do the time.
Or do you think his harmless actions should warrant 'another' slap on the wrist , thus not deterring him from doing his next crime 'saving the planet' ?

The blokes an idiot , but also a criminal idiot, who seems to think he has found a nice revenue stream to fund his lifestyle and further criminality, he needs to learn that actions have consequences, or do you disagree with that basic tenet ?

These clowns are not committing harmless crimes though are they ?

Blocking roads, stopping people getting to work, school doctors etc

When Extinction Rebellion blocked Westminster Bridge they stopped ambulances getting into St Thomas' Hospital

Harmless  ?

Just a question Smudger

Are you a member of Just Stop Oil ?

I am deeply unhappy with the UK's stance on firearms ownership, and yes, I find it humiliating to have to prostrate myself to the police to own a gun.

In general, countries with more liberal firearms laws also tend prioritise law and order, so I'm not sure you'll ever find a situation you're comfortable with.  Unless of course you're holding up, say, Liberia  an example.

Choosing to move into the criminal world by causing criminal damage was his personal choice and so he must take the consequences.

Sadly nothing will change unless and until a government amends sentencing guidelines to that the effect that, criminal damage and burglary will by default attract a custodial sentence.  Only in exceptional circumstance will a suspended sentence be considered appropriate.

Hey, we can dream, right?

It was his choice to do it, a spell in prison didn’t affect him, daddy probably pays his fines.

He will now have a criminal record that he can be proud of as he drains his way through society.

What would you suggest?

Day in court where the judge says “You have been a very naughty boy, now go away and don’t do it again”

Utter twallop

Quite a few in the legal profession have described the moron's crowd funding webpage as illegal and went further, suggesting those who contributed funds might well be guilty of conspiracy.

That would quickly remove them from the slap on the wrist category.

Legality does not make things morally right or wrong. Law is made by the people in charge, many of whom are corrupt and psychopathic. Do you honestly want to use the laws they make as your standard of right and wrong? Show me where I mentioned Sabs, Peta or anyone else.

Criminal damage and aggravated trespass? How about we put things in perspective and realise that some idiot disrupted a snooker game and poured orange powder on the table, making himself look an idiot in the process. Nobody was injured, no priceless item was destroyed, it just wound people up.

And GordonR and Vince Green calling for "crippling fines, which might ruin their future" or "There is a relutance to send anyone to prison. More the pity" - what the hell is wrong with you? You think someone should do time (ruining their ability to get a job, a house, travel, to name a few, for the rest of their lives), just because he was an idiot and disrupted a snooker game?

God help us all

Eh?
He offers for money, on a climbing scale, a range of protests from vocal to criminal damage for the relevant amount!

He has already done time for previous crimes committed as part of his protesting. It was down to him to commit these crimes, no one else.
Would you be of the same opinion if he was caught damaging your vehicle tyres because he objected to what you were driving?
I think you’re clutching at straws in an attempt to save face.

Barry has said he will also bankroll any spectator who wants to sue the moron. It won't cost the spectators a penny to attempt to recover the £325, plus travel and hotel expenses.

400 spectators at maybe £500 each. If he swallows his principles and gets a brief - that will only add to the £200k plus bill.

Smudger687 has gone a bit quiet.

The morons who are facing 2.5 - 3. years in prison probably don't see it as harmless fun any more.

Hopefully it might just make them think about how they peacefully protest and the consequences of their actions.
