Drive through take priority because of queuing traffic. One chain round here have had traffic complaints because the que blocks the main road at peak times! The Mevagissey roundabout in St Austell gets blocked completely on a regular basis by cars queueing for McDonalds and KFC. People complain but nothing changes. Locals a couple of miles up the road complain about having to constantly pick up the drinks cups and boxes from the fast food outlets that get chucked out of car windows

We had a McDonald’s built quarter of a mile from our house, they had to agree to litter pick the road for 100yards either direction, and you do see them out in a morning picking everything up. All chains should do the same.
Newbie to this
When our local McDonald's opened back up after lockdown, the police had to be called to control the traffic. It caused gridlock in the whole area. Don't know why people eat the stuff personally

I’ve gone for a coffee before and watched people sit in their cars and throw the rubbish out the window or open their door and leave on ground and drive off. Sadly it’s what our society generally represents now.

Its disgusting, I absolutely hate litter and I think a good gauge for how cohesive a society is, is representative of how much litter is thrown, which I'm sad to say doesn't say much for the UK these days. Yea same as my local bluebell woods with one dog poo bin in the car park . People pick their dog 💩 up and Chuck the bag in the ditch or brambles thinking it will rot away whereas it will probably be there for the next 20 years at least

sutty2006
I too hate todays society for the amount of litter. I was sat behind a car waiting to pull out on to a roundabout last week and the driver lauched a redbull can out his window. I felt like getting out and throwing it back in at him, but knowing my luck he'd have probably stabbed me. Just not worth the hassle. Blame the parents. I remember dropping a chewing gum wrapper when i was about 6 and my mother gave me a thick ear...... havent done it since!
London Best
I was sitting in the car with my daughter, then aged 4 (now 39). A family got into a nearby car. Two minutes later the woman in the front passenger seat opened the window and threw out a load of sweet/chocolate wrappings. My little girl said, “ look what that lady has done.” I told her to get out, pick it up, and give it back to the woman. She did this, and the gobsmacked woman accepted it from her, said “thank you” and promptly threw it past her back on the floor before they drove off. Scum. Scully
I followed slow traffic from Keswick on a diverted route when I saw the top from a McDonald’s drink thrown out of a window of the car we were behind. Just then we stopped at a junction and I said to my two kids ‘just watch, the drink carton will be next’, and sure enough out it came. I wound down my window and shouted ‘Pick that up!’ The drivers door opened and a heavily tattooed bloke got out. ‘Here we go kids’ I said. ‘stay in the car’, and just as I was about to get out he picked it up from the hedge and threw it back into his own car. ‘Don’t talk to my kid like that’ he shouted at me, to which I replied ‘ I didn’t see who threw it’. He got back in his car and off we went. 🤷♂️ My old boss was the best though at a job in Cockermouth while we sat in the van having lunch. A bloke in the vehicle next to us opened his door and emptied his ashtray onto the tarmac in the car park. I knew what was coming and couldn’t help smiling as my boss got out of our van, went to the back, came back with a dustpan and brush, walked over the their van while they watched, swept up the fag ends, opened their door, said ‘Here lads, you dropped something’ and emptied the dustpan into their vehicle! 😂 Brilliant! I think the lads were too gobsmacked to say anything!
scolopax
Always. Same as those actually in a takeaway should take precedent over those who ring their orders in. And anyone parking on double yellows whilst they collect their preordered takeaway should be incarcerated then shot.

You think litter is bad? The lay bys in Cornwall get covered in human poop in the summer and some poor council bloke has the job of clearing it up
Scully
Slightly back on topic, restaurant where my OH works, has just been nominated in the top 5 best places to eat in the North West by the Good Food Guide 2023!
