I dont go to church each week , but that do,sent mean I dont have Christian values in life, I have allways tried to get on with people, but that dont mean I can shut my eyes to whats going wrong with our country , I dont know how many muslims go to college with young F M, but I bet its not many, Blimey people who live in the big cities are aware, and to voice anger or concern is to be shouted down by people who have no idea whats going on! <_<

My personal view is that religion is for the weak minded who can't handle real life without hoping there's something looking after them all. Religion has caused more war and suffering through out the ages than anything else I can think of. BUT it doesn't mean I don't think people can have their own view and do what they like with their lives.

My point is that I don't go round the place shoving my view down people's throats and saying that if you don't believe what I think then you're an unbeliever who should be punished which is what a lot of these fanatical t**ts seem to think.

I don't tend to read newspapers as I think they are all biased in one way or another because it's the editor and his views that get in the paper.

Christmas for me is all about getting together with my family, have a nice big feed, hoping there will be snow, having too much to drink, watching Bond and falling a sleep contented, lovely. It shouldn't however have it's name changed by some loony left pc moron, to in someway please immigrants who couldn't care less anyway.

Only 7 weeks of shopping left to go!

I think you're talking a lot of sense there Doc

I have to agree with your view that religion is a good prop for the weak, though I tend to see that as a positive, it must be good to believe that everything gets sorted by a higher power in the end. Life for non-believers can look pretty bleak at times, knowing that this is it

I also agree that all newspapers are full of **** including (especially) the Guardian. Whereas papers like the Daily Mail tend to use headlines as attention-grabbers, pseudo-intellectual rags like the Guardian do the reverse, for their own political ends. For instance, if we won a big victory in a battle in Afghanistan, it would be buried in the middle of the Guardian or not reported at all, because they don't believe in this war. How is that better than what the Mail do? <_<

Despite endless hymns, prayers, carols and nativity plays at school, the one thing that signifies christmas to me is the jolly old man with a white beard and red coat introduced by Coke Cola in the '30s. Its about families having a get together and the kids hysteria starting the night before.

As a child I loved Christmas for the cold winter days, sliding on frozen over puddles or playing in snow, if we were lucky enough to get it. Of course the best bit was the feeling of anticipation when going to bed on Chistmas Eve and then waking at an unearthly hour in the morning to open all the presents Father Christmas had delivered the night before. We'd then drag our Christmas Stockings to mum and dads bed room where created was a vision of complete mayhem and spent an age picking up wrapping paper, whilst dad looked on with blury eyes. Christmas dinner was always great and playing with all the toys in the afternoon was always a must. The best bit was the parties mum & dad threw, I was always on Party 7 duty to fill the glasses up, of course i'd always sneak a sip when backs were turned, good ole McEwans. Oh an the good foot stomper that is Merry Christmas Everybody by Slade.

Now I enjoy Christmas even more as I see all of these emotions in my daughters eyes. Only now I realise why dad was always so blury eyed. <_<

Call it what you will, Christmas will always be Christmas just like Father Christmas will always be Father Christmas. Father Winter Festival doesnt really work does it and will they kill him off from all the shopping centres and malls too? And what of the Slade song 'So here it is, Winter Festival, everybody's having fun", nah aint gonna happen.

Even carol singers often parade along side father christmas in a sled towed by an old sierra.

Hear hear doc. I agree almost entirely with that. I do read a paper though - the London Evening Standard, which I find not to be too biased.

OK actually I slightly lied as I read the free Metro on the train into work but to be fair most of it is rubbish and I appreciate that, in fact any statisitic you read in Metro has usually been increased by a factor of ten so as long as you take that into account it's quite an entertaining read.

Oh and I do enjoy read Dear Deidre in my mates Sun, just to see how many people are ******* their best mates wife or the like.

i think its more to try and provoke the public to riot and civil war. By talking like that what response's do you think they know they will get ? You would have thought after WW2 things may have changed a bit but it still seems that someone/group somewhere is trying there damnedest to provoke the whole of the UK population to riot. (they get my vote :good: )
