At the same time the new committee chair for the country's Covid enquiry is an antivaxxer. Simply insane. Then i see this 🤣 David Frost, the influential Conservative peer who has been criticised for claiming that rising global temperatures could be beneficial to the UK, is being appointed to a key parliamentary committee on the climate crisis. They are not wrong. Vast areas of Canada, Greenland and Russia would benefit from an increase in Global temperatures. That's a given. So would some of the northern areas of USA and Scandinavia Tough that millions would die from drought and famine in other parts of the world. That's the price we have to pay but it seems nobody actually gives a F - F - Fig

Rewulf
8 hours ago, Nuke said: Not really, to warm those areas up would release green house gases that would increase the global temperatures even more. /M So lets keep the earth as cold as possible then, an ice age perhaps , far better than the oceans 'boiling' ? Methane and CO2 have been essential to keeping the planet warm enough for plant and animal life to continue existing, there isnt an argument there, so lets look at balance. CO2 has gone up naturally as the earth has continued to warm over the past 10000 years since the last ice age, trapped methane too, methane accounts for a tiny percentage of greenhouse gases, and while more potent, the 'life' of methane in the atmosphere is measured in a couple of decades, where CO2 can exist for hundreds. As the world inevitably warms, even at the extreme end of projections of 4 degrees C by the end of the century, land masses previously un-usable for flora will take up the slack in CO2 absorption, a simple model to prove this is seasonal plant decay and renewal. But the Thunberg science institute says if we even have 1 more degree of average mean temperature , the sea levels will rise 20 metres , and earth will become a desert. Human and industrial CO2 contribution is around 3-4 % in total greenhouse gas production worldwide, yet we are being told that we must cut down, or extinction rabbellion will be proved right in their pseudo science.. This always make me laugh.
