ShaggyRS6
I am interested in a shooting wagon. What tickles my fancy is a Land Rover Defender. My requirements though are for a cheap (no more than 500 quid if I can help it) vehicle that I can chuck the dogs in the back off, my guns, shoot from, not worry about getting it bashed or dirty inside. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
BSA Shaun
Vitara. or SJ410 For £500 you'd be lucky to get defender for the atari
al4x
don't whatever you do buy a £500 landrover unless you're a rather good mechanic and welder. The only one you'd get for your money would have fuel consumption worse than your RS6

Hewey
Hi Cupraman, I take it your after something roadworthy, i.e. tax mot etc? Not had one myself but a lot of people recommend Diahatsu's, either a Fourtrak or even the smaller Sportrak. Like's been said, £500 on a Landy would be a false economy. Why not just sell the RS6 and get a Q7 instead.!! (or better still a decent Landy)
webber
I've always fancied on of those Land Rover forward control jobs, but I believe that there are some much better foreign army vehicles availabe. Something with loads of ground clearance and a decent sized petrol engine so that I can run it on Autogas. webber

auto culto
i bought a tax exempt series 2A for £250 . I'm still working on it 2 months later . Its a good job i,m a mechanic by trade and have all the kit to do the job The main thing is though I've only got to spend about £200 all told to get it sorted as most of the work is purely labour. chunk
My father in law bought a ropey looking series 2 for a grand and has had to do a fair amount of work on it. Its still not completely there, but useable. For 500 quid i think you would be looking at a non running chassis with a tree growing through it, a blown engine and a mouse called dave living in the air filter. Even on ebay there is a shortage of landys of any sort on the cheap.
