Vince Green
How much for a small dive bottle and how many shots should you expect to get ( roughly) from a filling? I intend to buy one from the dive shop where I will be getting refills but wanted some idea whether his price is reasonably competitive and whether it will hold enough air for my need. I don't want a full size bottle because it's too bulky to lug around

BSA Ultra etc Hello, If i remember with my 410 i got about 12 fills from a 3 Ltr Cylinder, With the BSA much depends on the size of air cylinder, My 410 was standard filling from 30/40 to 180 Bar, With the Ultra being a shorter cylinder maybe 15 fills, but just a guess , Ultra Stewart may help better on the BSA, My 410 was easy to fill by Hand pump if you kept topped up, A gun/air rifle shop is usually cheaper to fill than a Dive Centre,

I've got a 4 or 5ltr bottle and it's easily manageable, but I realise we're all different. Not sure I'd want a bottle much smaller as you'll be topping up fairly frequently if you shoot a fair bit. A hand pump may be easier if you keep on top of it?

Topping up is easy there is a dive shop just up the road

They are always a lot cheaper than others 👍

243deer
My 3l bottle fits nicely in one of the big stanley toolboxes, keeps it protected, discrete and stops it rolling around
DEAN C.
Its difficult to say how many fills as the exact gun cylinder volume varies from one model to another, but it also depends on what you re fill at . Make sure that you buy a 300 bar, and personally I would buy a a 5 litre or 7 litre. I have a 3 litre now as a back up, but they are more messing about if you shoot frequantly, and have owned a 12 litre (too heavy). For price guidelines look at Best fittings website or Redbeck guns for a fair comparison.

Lloyd90
Make sure to get a 300 bar cylinder and not a 232 dive one. Also apparently some dive cylinders need to be tested every 2 years but some ones every 5 years. Just found this: THE 5-YEAR TEST EXPLAINED According to British Standards, diving cylinders require testing every 2½ years from date of manufacture, and surface-use cylinders (such as Airgun Charging Cylinders) once every 5 years. There are exceptions. The simplest method to determine a cylinder’s use is to examine the valve fitted. If the valve has surface-use features like our Jubilee Gun Valve with bleed and dry gauge, you’re awarded a 5-year test. However, if the valve can be used for diving – irrespective of whether you dive or not – the test station will treat this as a diving cylinder and award a 2½ year test.
