TIGHTCHOKE Posted Saturday at 16:53 Report Share Posted Saturday at 16:53 Loads of SxS's have travelled over in the last few years, they are making little or no money here.

Fargo Posted Monday at 12:14 Report Share Posted Monday at 12:14 There’s an auction by me and you can pick up real bargains… W&S 700 for £350 vgc , AYA 4 28” £35+in 7/10 condition etc Sxs market is finished and majority of people won’t want to even use one. Me personally for game shooting there is nothing better than a 27/28” 6.75lb sxs

All British guns are thought to be special in the U.S. Even box lock non ejectors can fetch really good money.

Extremely bad news for those that bought during the made late 1980s when even "English rubbish" (as in rubbish that was well past its best..worn...tired...heavily subjected to gun coping) sold for daft money. The days of the Knightsbridge Gun Company or some such named business. Good quality best English is worth 50% of what it was five years ago and maybe 30% of what it was ten years ago. Webley 700 guns made for years after production ended around £1200 to £1400. Nowadays they struggle to break £500 to £700 in most places even if in near original condition. Personally I'v always though the humble AYA No4 or Yeoman Ejector a better gun. Indeed "stole" at £500 a very little used factory long stock AYA No4 in 12 bore just before the beginning of last season. The only gun I have had to have the stock cut down to fit me to 15 5/8". The gun, 28" barrels, weighs 6lbs 9ounces and is very well handling. Edited Monday at 18:37 by enfieldspares

Ive bid on some 4’s but won’t pay more than £85 for a really clean 90% colour one

I think that Dig Hadoke capitalised on selling to the States and made good money doing so. Whether he still does, I’m not sure. Seem to recall one of our American members travelling many miles and paying the equivalent of £500 or so pounds for a Greener GP which are held in high esteem on their side of the pond. My nephew who’s given up shooting gave his away to a PW member at the weekend in the knowledge that it’s gone to a good home and will be used and cherished. Agreed they are worth more there but not generally 7500% more unless remarkable. E.g. a W&S 702 BLE with sensible length barrels might make £700 at auction here. This one is up at £1300 so a 100% uplift (and probably what it would be on a dealer's shelf here.) https://www.gunsinternational.com/guns-for-sale-online/shotguns/webley-amp-scott-shotguns/webley-scott-702-sxs-shotgun-12ga.cfm?gun_id=102808413 GBS Edited Tuesday at 17:03 by GBS
