I had to do an early dog walk in the dark today as groceries delivery due early .......... and since it included a few 'breakfasty items', it seemed natural, logical and satisfying to make a light (but nourishing) breakfast.ย  No eggs - as I don't eat eggs.

Looks great ๐Ÿ˜‹ but,,,, [there's always a but !] personal taste - take off the tomato, black pudding and bubble, and substitute for a couple of poached eggs and some buttered fresh bread ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜† Does look nice though ๐Ÿซก

The tomato (actually 4 very overripe halves) badly needed eating.ย  Bubble and squeak is a favourite for me and uses up the leftovers - and black pudding more of an 'occasional' addition.ย  I can't eat eggs, but in fact there was some buttered toast (using up last week's bread) on the side.

not in the slightest Harry , we lived in a two up two down and my brother and I shared a double bed ,

one particular evening supper was baked beans on toast , which I did not fancy and only ate a small amount ,

my older brother was delighted to eat the lot which resulted in him throwing up all over the bed and me ! when the light was switched onย  the beans were still of the same shape and constituency as they had been before he devoured them but a very different stench! maybe something you would think about when you next eat beans Harry ! Bon Appetitย

I haven't had a breakfast like that for ages , possibly years , when I look back we had a full English virtually every Sunday morning then a few hours later we had a roast dinner , money wise we most likely had less in those days than what we have got now and throughout life we always gave food a priority , now I can afford a full breakfastย  , it not very often I fancy something like that but I must admit it do look nice .ย  ย  ย MM

Have you heard the expression "many a truth spoken in jest" ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰

It has been noted that you are on the fussy side with food ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

When I was a child we had cooked breakfast course every day.ย  Not a 'full English', but quite a small cooked course of maybe one or two items from; - beans on toast, - a rasher (long back always) of smoked bacon and a few mushrooms, - a couple of chipolatas, - two halves of a grilled tomato, - a few leftover potatoes made up either as fried, or bubble and squeak, - a fried slice (bread).ย  Black pudding was a rarity as my father didn't like it much, but we had devilled kidneys or kedgeree occasionally.ย  Those who ate egg had various egg dishes, fried, poached, scrambled, boiled or coddled (I usually had beans on toast on those days).

On a Sunday - it was either boiled eggs, or buttered kippers.

Am I, and others, not allowed to be "on the fussy side with food" ? Not everyone wants to eat the boring dross you dish up ! ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‰

Wow , and I thought we lived well , we certainly didn't have Black pudding , devilled kidneys and kedgeree , whatever that is , ours consisted of Danish bacon , fresh eggs , home grown tomatoes , or my dad had tin ones , fried bread , marsh mushrooms with the odd sausage and some Heinz beans ,washed down with a strong cup of tea. Kippers , Bloaters and Herring were for tea , we were not that well offย
