I’m with you on that Ditchman, I love cheese and I love chips… I just don’t love them together.

I must admit that chips with various toppings are getting very popular around this way , the chips stalls on our market place are renowned for the quality as Ditchman will testify , the shredded cheese on top is possibly the most popular along with gravy and Peas , gone are the days when you just had Chips and tripe , udder , Cows heel and chitterlings and jot with mustard vinegar , onion vinegar or simply just vinegar .................. with salt , pepper ect ect

Might had been for the public toilets  but a sad day when it came to a end , that was as good as any meal ( well the ones I do ) to have 9d worth of Kellys chips with a tanners worth of Mixed Tripe with a splash of mustard vinegar , these were put in a nicely folded up piece of the News Of The World , so after you have enjoyed your meal out in the fresh air you can then read all the gossip in the newspaper , now what could be better than that T C . :hmm:

You can't beat a nice bit of offal.

Fried kidneys, liver and bacon, black pudding all featured in my childhood diet, and still do.

I remember Mother buying udder from Sheffield Castlegate market and frying slices of it as a breakfast treat.

I did and do turn my nose up at tripe, though, even à la mode de Caen and as for andouillettes 🤮
