ryle
Thanks! I was unsure weather 'High Velocity' was a sort of marketing slogan. My experience of buying steel is limited to that very box approx 13yrs ago I was unsure weather HP are marked only as HP. Thanks for the help, I'll give em away sometime! grahamch
Look at the load/proof requirements on the box that should tell you all you need to know
TOPGUN749
I believe HP steel loads are 3 inch, so I say no,they are standard load steel.
ryle
I'll double check the box and see. Im sticking 'em through a Beretta 682 Gold E. Not an ancient gun but don't wanna blow ot up ha ha! Id obviously change her chokes down to a half at the tightest. I used to have half an idea with proof marks etc as I was partial to an old English gun or two, but this is so long ago I've completely forgot nowadays. When i buy the usual clay cartridges, i don't have to give it a thought.

Hull do a Sovereign 2 3/4" HP only steel clay load.
Sweet11-87
if its got a fleur de lis or says high performance on the box it requires the higher proof, if not its a standard steel load. its as simple as that. all the big uk names also stamp each individual cartridge high performance so that its still a warning if you mix them into a cartridge bag those are a standard steel load, hull do sell a cartridge called "steel game extra" and theyre high performance and are marked with the fleur de lis but those youve got are a standard load mental how often this comes up still, and its mental how many comment with duff info. enfieldspares
I would contact Hull Cartridge Company. They are very good and responding and will tell you what they are suitable for in regard to how your gun is.
rbrowning2
Does not each cartridge have to be printed on as HP steel if it is, possibly also with max pressure 1050bar otherwise if the cartridges get separated from the box how would you know? archi Posted Wednesday at 17:13 Report Share Posted Wednesday at 17:13 They are 100% standard steel the HP variants are marketed as Steel Game Extra
Scully Posted Wednesday at 17:38 Report Share Posted Wednesday at 17:38 It doesn’t matter whether they’re HP or not, they’ll be fine through your shotgun. It wont ‘blow up’. If in any doubt just use open chokes.
