Nice one , maybe your taste buds are changing or your more used to the better quality ham , I buy my dog some very thin slices of Chicken that he eat with his Youmove tablets wrapped inside , how can people eat that ? , I have no idea , it look terrible and I would be looking for something a bit better than that , still my dog like it and good luck to the people who also like , sadly it is not for me . :good:

I had a tin recently and didn't think it was as nice as it used to be

there is a reciepe for spam ..something like take a slice of spam.....a slice of craft cheese...press together and dip in a thick batter and deep fry........oh and i think you need to stick the cheese to the spam with a bit of batter before dipping

Ooo,that's interesting.

I thought you were going down the grouse recipe route - best way to cook grouse, start an open fire, put some bricks in, wrap the grouse in foil and place on the bricks. After 20 mins take the grouse out the flames, throw it away and eat the bricks!!😆

You can apply the same method on just about every bird , animal or fish you attempt to cook , I am sure my ole grandfather would had made the oldest grouse on the planet edible in his time , mind you , we were light years from ever trying a Grouse down our way , the only Grouse we would have tried would had been out of the bottle .

The only bird that beat his cooking skills was the Curlew , we have heard the brick saying 100s of times so we wont repeat it , the nearest he got to that was he always put a whole Onion inside the Curlew and two or three rashes of bacon on the breast , I remember one ole bird did beat him and made his little kitchen smell of high heavens , this bird was un edible and with us renown for not wasting anything we ended up eating the onion and the bacon and the Curlew was giving to the hungry pigs . :good:

Take two thin slices of spam and place a thin piece of cheddar.

Make them in to a sandwich, cover in the batter mixture and then fry.

Absolutely lovely.

I dare say you could do the same with corned beef T C :hmm:, there was a fish and chip shop in Wells in N / Norfolk ( Frenchie's ) that used to do deep fried corned beef and believe it or not they even done deep fried Mars bars , mind you I don't think there was a big demand :good: .

That's a Jock thing, I was stood in a queue for a "fish Supper" near Edinburgh one evening.

As the three of us got near the front of the line I heard a loud splash.

It was a pizza going in to the hot fat.

STRANGE PEOPLE up there.

No need to go all that way to see strange people , I had a traditional tea tonight , well nearly traditional , Fish , Chips, Macaroni cheese and half a tray of Special fried rice , finished off with a leftover bit of Apple pie and the last bit of custard and never even burnt the custard 😛  MM
