Cal50
I'm finally getting round to buying a moderator for my .308 in 18x1. It will be used on the range so durability and the ability to withstand heat is important. Therefore an over barrel/shroud mod is probably unwise and unnecessary. So far ASE seems to be the best choice, is there any others I'm missing?
Dougy
For just range use i would go brake, horrible things to be anywhere near but you will soon heat up a mod on a range hot enough to cook your bacon. Jet Z compact will take the stick, but dont do what i did and not check its on tight, shooting at over 1k i wondered why i drifted off, fluffed MOD and £300 lighter, hence me suggesting a brake. Thanks, I have already got a Dolphin Muzzle break that does work well but is loud if I'm shooting in a shelter. I also have a range a can commence shooting at an hour earlier if I have a mod. Also I just enjoy having more kit that I know what to do with! I've been there to before with a 22lr compensator so hopefully lesson learnt on that one Edited November 18 by Cal50
Dougy
Just avoid anything with Aluminium used, I put 1000's through my Jet Z and it would have lasted me out, Im not sure about the new Ase SL5 i have the original Ase S5 that has had in the region of 5-6K through it, yes its heavy but that aint a bad thing if the weight is due to the materials used.
