samboy
Hi gang. Can anybody recommend a decent tin of the above. I used to buy Heinz but last time i tried it the taste didn't seem as nice as it used to be. Thanks all.
JohnfromUK
I have not personally tried the Oxtail, but I have found Baxters soups to be good. However I have looked 'on-line' and it seems it may have been discontinued? Quick look suggests Heinz, or various supermarket 'own brands' (which may be by Heinz?) are all that is available now. I tried a tin the other day and found it tasted strongly a bit like pigs liver (i.e. very strong offal flavour). Not one I would go back for seconds. I do like Baxters other soups including their Beef Consommé and their Bone Broth with Mushroom and Barley.

Bigbob
Looked at a oxtail in Morrisons last week £13 😲. I go to Bookers warehouse and i have often wished baxters mixed the cans of soups on there trays as 24 of one type is too much

Baxters was a decent soup , I did have a tin of the Royal Game once and there was a piece of lead shot in the bottom of the tin , with todays scanning devices I very much doubt a piece of shot would get past the modern scanning machines . They used to do another decent soup which was Cambells ? , not sure if they are still operating

THANKS for the update , I used to go to the one at Kings Lynn where they had the big tall building with Campbells painted on , then they knocked it down , or blew it up and I believe it is now Tesco's so I wasn't sure if the soup factory is still in production . Yes, my wife told me about it when we have driven past the site on the way from Spalding to the the north Norfolk coast. Nothing’s sacred now, everything is being taken over or swallowed up. The world is changing rapidly, and not for the better. 😢☹️
