Looking to buy ear protection for occasional fowling, being able to hear background noise is a must, budget of approx up to £100, any recommendations please

You can buy decent electronic over ear defs for £45ish.

I have a pair and they are very good!

Sordin - at least I think that’s how you spell it. I use them all the time. Worth noting though, no ear defenders will pick up all the subtle sounds especially in windy conditions. Neither will they tell you exactly which direction the sound is coming from. The only way to really tune in to … say the wings of approaching teal … is with our ears. There will always be a compromise in wearing ear defenders. I always choose to wear them however.
