marsh man
A bit out of my comfort frame tonight , King Prawn thermidor gratin and a couple of last nights meatballs , mixed veg and to keep JKD happy I had a few spuds , the gratin was very nice and it had brandy and shellfish thermidor sauce , the Prawns were far better than the cheap ones we used to have , all in all it was nice and just had enough room for the last of the Apple pie and custard . TIGHTCHOKE
Well it's an odd mixture, but I would eat that quite happily. Did you enjoy the thermidor?

Yes I did , the Prawns were nice along with the sauce they were in , there was two of them dishes in the box , not the sort of thing I would normally buy , but they were from M + S and reduced to £2.92 from £6.50 , not sure I would pay the full price as they are not suitable for freezing and I would have to eat them both within a few days , I might have the other one with fish and chips later on in the week and give the veg a miss .MM

JKD
Must have some spuds with my dinner MM 😆 Another 'mixed' plateful, but as long as you are enjoying it, that's all that matters 👍

No, but I wonder why M + S felt the need to add the GRATIN? Thermidor is a cheese topped dish.

To be fair to M + S I will tell you what is in small print on the box , Juicy king prawns in a creamy brandy and shellfish thermidor sauce, topped with a cheese and parsley crumb . So you were right and so was M + S

Pity the dish that it was in wasn't edible , still I will keep them in case I do something similar , or to be more serious , I will put small pot plants in them 2 minutes ago, TIGHTCHOKE said: Well, I would have hoped M + S did feel the need to talk down to their customers, it wouldn't happen in Waitrose where they give us Free Coffee. I wouldn't have had a clue what should had been in the container so I thought as they had been reduced they were worth trying , they didn't break the bank and were as good or better than I thought they would be .
